Covid times. That’s what I’ve been passionately calling these unsettling times. There’s so much uncertainty these days, and we are all doing our best to keep a bit of “normal” in our lives.
So what about shopping? Many of us have shifted our spending habits, but still want to feel the thrill of a great purchase, or try a new trend. I’ve had many questions lately from clients on what to buy during these “Covid times“, so I thought I would offer a few tips in this blog (for more tips on shopping sales, read this blog).
Happening right now at Nordstrom is the largest sale of the year, the anniversary sale! I’m posting some of the items I recently purchased there. All of my purchase (on sale for a limited time) and tips below will take you into the next season and beyond.
- Always have a plan and a budget. If you have shopped with me or have been one of my clients for years, you know that I always have a plan. I do my homework, scan my closet and make sure I am shopping with a purpose. I always set a budget as well. It could be a “lose” budget (you never know what you will find!), but having an idea in mind helps with sale buyer’s remorse.
- Look for lounge wear and comfort: As many of us are working from home, we are opting for more casual style. Many work-out at home too, and want to feel motivated in great workout gear. Now is the perfect time to invest in lounge and workout gear!

2. You can never go wrong with classic pieces: Since I wanted to take advantage of the amazing prices during the NSale, but don’t quite know when I’ll head back to the “normal office”, I picked classic pieces. Items like the blouse and fitted blazer have some serious staying power, and will be on-trend for seasons to come.
3. Affordable trends: My rule with trends is always the same. Spend only 20% of your fashion budget on them. There are so many amazing trends on sale right now at Nordstrom, I just had to snatch up these 2 pieces.

I was fortunate enough to get early access to the Nordstrom sale, on now until September 3rd. If you are still not heading into the brick stores, the Canadian site is now live! Let me know what you end up getting, or if you need help!
